Danny Wayne Young, Sr.

Danny Wayne Young, Sr., 62, of Largo, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. He was born in Live Oak on March 14, 1960 to Margie Cannon Young and the late James Owen Young. He has made the Pinellas/Hillsborough County area his home for over the last 20 years, moving there from the Suwannee County area. He was self-employed in the sales industry for over 35 years and was currently contracted with the Fraternal Order of Police, helping them with their fundraising efforts. Mr. Young always had a heart for the underdog; and in his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, cleaning his vehicles, restoring old vehicles, working on crossword puzzles and drinking a cool Pepsi. He is preceded in death by his father, James Owen Young; his brother, Willie Ray Young and his sister, MaryJo Adkins.

He is survived by his spouse, Shelli Osborne of Largo, FL; son, Danny Wayne “Dusty” Young, Jr. of Zephyrhills, FL; brothers, James Young (Pat) & Bruce Young both of Branford, FL and Eugene Young (Rita) of Lake City, FL; sisters, Wanda Hart (Hyman) of Mayo, FL and Peggy Rickett (Ramie) of Branford, FL. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A funeral service for Mr. Young will be conducted on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Mr. Dustin Crews officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Branford, FL. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
