Charles “Red” M. Williams, Jr., 76, of High Springs, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 27, 2022 after an extended illness. He was born in Dublin, Ireland on April 15, 1946 to the late Charles M. Williams, Sr. and Patricia Brophy Williams. He has made Gainesville and the North Florida Area his home all of his life and was a member of The Cross Church in Ellisville. Mr. Williams was an Auctioneer by trade, and owned and operated his own auction company, Williams Auctions for over 50 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren as well as going to and attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marietta Williams; son, Charles “Charlie” Williams (Kari); daughters, Rhonda Dickhaut (Don), Robin Larocca (Lance), Kathy Green (Brian) and Lynn Hope (David); brothers, Tom Williams (Mary) & Carl Wayne Williams (Teresa); and his sisters, Iunis Carroll (Pete) & Kathleen Hornsby (Gene). Eight grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service for Mr. Williams will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at The Cross Church in Ellisville with Rev. Kenneth Edenfield officiating. Interment will follow in Dedan Cemetery in Brooker, Florida. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday evening, May 2, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
