Charles Gordon Clyatt, 84 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Lake City Medical Center. He was born in Providence, Florida, the fifth child of twelve to the late Warren Brewster Clyatt and Louise Fralick Clyatt. Mr. Clyatt had made Lake City his home most of his life and was a member of the First Full Gospel Church of Lake City. He worked for over 30 years with Metal Products in Lake City and he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing and singing music. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rita Ann Bates; and seven siblings, Iris Williams, Franklin Clyatt, Ivan Clyatt, Ruth Jean Clyatt, Betty Jane Brown, Warren Clyatt and Warren Clyatt, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Cheshire Clyatt, Lake City; his children, Brenda Gail Humphreys, Lake City, Charles Joseph Clyatt (Randi), Sasser, GA, Tracy Brannon (Ronnie), Lake City and Bernie Howey (Paloma), Lake City; one brother, David Clyatt (Brenda), Starke; three sisters, Mary Lou Daniels (Lewis), Yvonne Petty (Zimmie) and Nancy Chauncey (Stanley) all of Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, “Pee Wee”.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the First Full Gospel Church of Lake City with Pastor Stan Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in White Springs. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
