Charleen Marie Kelley

Charleen Marie Kelley, 76, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after a brief illness. She was born in Maine on January 12, 1947 to the late Maurice B. Pattee and Marjorie Cruthers. She has made Lake City her home since the early 1980s and was a science teacher for over 38 years, retiring in 2010. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, collecting shells and collecting shark teeth. She was also in charge of the science fair in Columbia County for several years; and she was a member of the First Methodist Church here in Lake City.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Willard Dale Kelley of Lake City; son, David Kelley of California; daughter, Stephanie Kelley of Lake City; and her brother, Don Pattee (Theresa) of St. Augustine.

A funeral service for Mrs. Kelley will be conducted on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Aaron Ankey officiating. Interment will follow in the Dedan Cemetery in Brooker, Florida. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday afternoon, October 22, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
