Bradley Curtis “Brad” Byrd, 50, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 7, 2021 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after brief illness. He was born in Starke on December 12, 1970 and has resided in the Live Oak area most of his life. He has made Lake City his home for the past nine years and was the Operations Coordinator at the Lake City Gateway Airport. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with his family and friends, entertaining people, fishing, cooking, watching football and was an avid gun enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Amy Garrard Byrd; daughters, Alexis Collins (Ryan) and Leigh-Anna Boone (Jesse); grandchildren, Saylor and Palmer Boone; mother and father, Vernon & Betsy Byrd; father & mother-in-law, Frank and Gail Garrard; mother-in-law, Kathy Zebouni; sister & brother-in-law, Stacey and John Skierski; sister-in-law’s, Laura and Wendy Garrard; sister & brother-in-law, Sara and Grady Miars; brother & sister-in-law, John and Kristy Garrard. Nieces and nephews, Jason, Callie and Raleigh Bullock, Rachael & Ryan Tanksley, Madisyn Trawick and Landen & Lathan Garrard.
A funeral service for Brad will be conducted on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Bass & Pastor Shawn Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
