Bobby Lee Stanley, Sr.

Mr. Bobby Lee Stanley, Sr., 92, of Lake City died Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City. A native of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Mr. Stanley was the son of the late Alfred Ray and Gladys Mary Pearman Stanley. Following his retirement from the US Air Force, Bobby moved to Lake City in  1972 and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved golfing, traveling, playing Bingo, and cheering on the Florida Gators. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Marjorie in 2014, daughter, Sandra Louise Stanley Tate; and brothers, Jerry Stanley and Clyde Stanley.

Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife Debbie Garbett Stanley; sons, Bobby Lee Stanley, Jr. (Beverly), and Jerry Dean Stanley (Penny); daughter, Debra Ann Stanley Greene; brothers, Wendell (Opal) and Harry; son in law, Roger Tate; stepsons, Bobby (Lisa), Danny Garbett (Tammy), and Matt Garbett (Jenifer).Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was fondly known as “Papa” and “Grandpa” to many and “Uncle Papa” to 2.

Funeral services for Mr. Stanley will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Tatem officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.
