Barry Carlton Mosley, 74, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the Lake City Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in North Carolina on August 3, 1946 to the late Bruce and Lillian Mosley. He worked for the City of Homestead in Miami as a Supervisor in the water department for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. He and his wife have lived in the Lake City area since the early 2000s and are members of the Evergreen Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed cutting grass, riding dirt bikes with his son in his younger days, camping and fishing. Mr. Mosley was a proud US Army veteran and is preceded in death by his siblings, Roger “Bu” Mosley, Glenda Chase, Maxine Spears and Rita McAveen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bobbie Mosley; son, Perry Mosley; brothers, Elton Mosley (Sheila) and Frank “Tankie” Mosley (Linda); sister, Kay Smith and his granddaughter, Kaylee Mosley.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mosley will be conducted on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00 (30 minutes prior to the services) at the graveside.
