It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of our dearly beloved Anna Elinoff. Anna passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at age 44 after battling complications from Covid-19. A native of Jacksonville, Anna went to Mandarin High School and the Zookeeping Program at Santa Fe Community College, followed by receiving her BS at SUNY Oswego. Anna later attended St. Kitts Veterinary School.
Anna was the joy of our life as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a kind and generous heart, delighted in volunteering with senior citizens and had a life-long passion for rescuing and caring for animals of all kinds, especially birds. She loved being able to help birds every day in her role as a veterinary assistant at Exotic Bird Hospital. Combining her love for travel and animals, Anna interned in South Africa Kruger National Park. Horseback riding, scuba diving, karate and movies were among her favorite activities, along with spending time with her family, including her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her parents Dr. Ronald and Susan Elinoff, her sisters Michelle (Chris) Maingot and Jill Elinoff, her brother Craig Elinoff, nieces Amelia and Miranda, nephew Jonathan, and companion Hector Ortiz.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on February 23 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Lake City, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anna’s name to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
