Alma Jean Raulerson Howes, 62 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was born the second oldest of seven children to the late Johnny George Raulerson and Betty Jo Wheeler Raulerson. Mrs. Howes was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1976 and a member of the Abundant Life Church in Lake City. She worked for many years with Suwannee Health Care and the Suwannee and Columbia County Sheriff’s Offices. Mrs. Howes was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Howard Lewis Howes; one brother, John Raulerson; and one sister, Janice Marie Davis.
Survivors include her son, Shawn Howes (Twyla), Fort White; two daughters, Jenifer Sullivan, Tampa and Tracy Howes, Jacksonville; three brothers, Benny Raulerson (Heidi), Jacksonville and Britt Raulerson (Joyce) and Jeff Raulerson (Cathy) all of Lake City; one sister, Allie Raulerson, Lake City; six grandsons; her best friend, Dot Livingston, Live Oak; and three brothers in law, James Howes, Cheifland, Doug Howes (Mary), Lafayette County and Jimmy Davis, Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Cagney Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at the Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
