Alfonso Estevez, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Mr. Estevez was a resident of Wellborn, but resided in Lake City with is daughter Kathy the last 5 years of his life. He was born in Key West, Florida to the late Alfonso and Gloria Guzman Estevez. Mr. Estevez was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved the water and was an upholsterer by trade. Mr. Estevez had a long and happy life and was a simple man who never asked for anything but was always willing to give to others. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Sapp Estevez; one daughter, Yvonne Estevez McCormick; and one grandson, Gavin Michael McCormick.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kathy Kavanagh (Billy Roy) and Diane Weeks (Joey); one brother, Danny Estevez (Violet); grandchildren, Stephanie Bunton, Kimberly Free (Dustin), Kaleb McCormick (Christina), Amber Rutkin (David) and Joshua Weeks (Natalie); great-grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn Bunton, Logan and Kaislee Free, Paityn, Kolton and Bryleigh McCormick and Kenady and Jaxon Rutkin; several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Wellborn Cemetery in Wellborn, Florida. Following the graveside memorial service, a gathering will be held at Mr. Estevez’s home.
