Adriana “Adri” Isabel Gonzalez, 61, of Lake City, was found peacefully returned to our Heavenly King on March 13, 2023.
Adriana was born on September 16, 1961, in Buenos Aires, Argentina to the late Orlando Aripon and her beloved mother Rosa Estela Cura. Prior to coming to the states, she received her Master of Psychology, and once coming she made sure to get her Bachelor’s in Psychology so that she could do the one thing she loved most -- help people. Whether it be working for the Department of Childrens and Families, working as a social worker in hospitals, or driving around all over North Florida as a social worker for hospice, she always made sure to go the extra lengths for her patients.
She is survived by her three children, Lisa Cunningham, Daniel Gonzalez, and Justin Gonzalez; mother and stepfather Estela Cura and Horacio Cura; siblings, Michelle Cura and Yago Cura; nephews Berlin, Cy, and Everest; fur daughter Kia; and so many more dear friends and family.
Adriana was a devoted mother, daughter, sibling, and friend who would do absolutely anything for anyone she crossed paths with. She was beautiful, kind, intelligent, educated, hard-working, dedicated, funny, sarcastic, and just simply full of life. She has been through so many chapters of life, but no matter the hardships, she chose to give her life to God, put Him first and always see the good in everyone and everything.
She will be missed with the same persistency in which she loved. We will forever hold her within our hearts and remember the kindness that she spread and the rooms she lit up. And our love for you will never end.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM where we will celebrate her life and all the love she spread throughout. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We ask that those attending wear Argentinian Jerseys, white or light blue, or light colors. Please no dark clothing, as we are granting her wishes of being celebrated and not mourned. Thank you.
