Mrs. Nelle Ulm Wade, "Granny Nelle", 98 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Lake Butler Hospital following a brief illness.  Mrs. Wade was born in Worth County, Georgia to the late Jessie A. and Hattie Chapman Ulm.  She worked as a professional bookkeeper for many years and loved volunteering at Columbia City Elementary School. Nelle was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Wade, Sr. in 1971; one sister, Lillian Willis; two brothers, H.W. "Woody" Ulm and Murray Ulm; and one nephew, Larry Ulm.

She is survived by one son, Russell A. Wade, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Lake Butler and their children, Russ Wade and wife Tammy, Jeffrey Wade and wife Julie, Jordan Wade and wife Kiley ; one daughter, Janet Wade Shifflett and her husband Ron of Stuarts Draft, VA and their children, Brian Shifflett and wife Julie, Ashley Tyree and husband Chris and Adam Shifflett and wife Ashley; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Sue Blanton, Francis Ulm and Jenny Wade; thirteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Sonya Pearce and her family.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Bass, First Baptist Church of Lake City, officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10-11:00 AM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lake City, 182 NE Justice St., Lake City, FL 32055.
