Bill Merritt, age 82, passed away May 24, 2023 at the Baya Nursing home in Lake City, FL.  Bill was born Dec. 16, 1940 to Dell & Oma Merritt. He is preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Bonnie Moran.

He is survived by his brother, Joe Merritt, sister, Elizabeth May, nephews, Rick May (Mary Farrell), Jody May, Steven May (Tammy Douglass), niece, Darlene Quiel (Greg), Cindy Tripp, and Terri Hazelbaker (Clint), and many cousins and great nieces and nephew.

Bill served in the National Guard, owned several grocery stores, and was self-employed for many years before his retirement. He took care of his parents for years before they passed and was very generous in helping family members throughout his life. Special thanks to Larry and Pat Moran, for their support and friendship over the last several years.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Merritt will be conducted on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.  at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lake City, FL.
