William James Haley, 77, of Lake City, FL, died on Monday, August 6, 2012, at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, FL, after a short illness. He was born in Haley, Minnesota and was the son of the late James William and Julia Stonich Haley. His family moved to Tomahak, Wisconsin where he graduated high school. He obtained his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and then obtained his LLD from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He passed the FL Bar and was in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1963 serving as a US Air Force Captain. After moving to Lake City, FL in 1963, he joined the law firm of Brannon, Brown, Norris & Vocell and was still active in the firm of Brannon, Brown, Haley & Bullock, P.A. at the time of his death. He had been a member of Epiphany Catholic Church since 1963.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jo Haley, Lake City, FL; three daughters: Mary Nell Haley, Atlanta, GA, Meg Haley, Lake City, FL, PJ Haley Hottenstein (David), New Smyrna Beach, FL; one son: Dr. Jimbo Haley (Heni), Lake City, FL; grandchildren: Annabella, Sebastian, and Christian of Lake City, FL; and step granddaughter, Chelsea Hottenstein, New Smyrna Beach, FL.; one brother: Thomas Haley (Betty), Milledgville, GA.
A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, August 10, 2012, at 10 A.M. at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Mike Pendergraft officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home with a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epiphany Catholic School, 254 SW Malone St., Lake City, FL 32025. GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S.
