William Gregory Powell, Jr. "JR", 18, of White Springs, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 4, 2025. He was born in Lake City on March 6, 2007, but has lived his entire life in the White Springs area. He was currently working as an Apprentice to be a Mechanic; and he was of the Christian Faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a typical teenager, riding four wheelers, raising his game roosters, boxing and working on his truck. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Catherine Powell, Brandon Gregory Powell and William Bentley Powell; and his paternal grandmother, Martha Ann Powell and paternal grandfather, Jimmy Powell. JR was well loved by his family and his community.

He is survived by his parents, William Gregory Powell, Sr. (Stormy Smith) of White Springs and Jessica Leigh Black Powell of Jasper; brothers, Payton Powell, Hunter Daniels, Grayson Powell, Bryson Brown and Cameron & Preston Chestnut all of White Springs;  sisters, Tabatha Powell, Briana Powell, Haven Anderson, Hazel Powell and Kionna Black all of White Springs. Paternal Grandfather, William Richard Powell, Maternal Grandmother, Wanda Butler, Maternal Grandfather, John Black and his special Grandmother, Aunt Melinda Powell and special cousin, Donnie Chestnut all of White Springs also survive.

Pallbearers will be, Payton Powell, Hunter Daniels, Donnie Chestnut, Cameron Chestnut, Marlin Powell and Nathan Dunaway.

A graveside service for JR Powell will be conducted on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Riverside Cemetery in White Springs with Pastor Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow.
