Wilford David Jewell, 80, of Lake City, Fl., passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, following and extended illness at Shands at Lake Shore Hospital.

Born on November 20, 1933, in South Carolina to the late James William Jewell and Annie Mae Odom. He served his country for 9 years in the United States Army. Mr. Jewell enjoyed fishing, target shooting, and car restoration. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors included his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Virginia Jewell, of Lake City, three sons; David Jewell, of NC., Michael Jewell, of SC., Bruce Jewell of Lake City, two daughters; Faye Ewing of NV., Annie Jewell, of NC., Step- Children; Linda Burnett, of Jacksonville, Fl., Vicky Falkenstein, of PA., Terri Greene, of TN., Tim Greene, of Jacksonville, Fl., one sister; Carolyn Speight, of NC., 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren also survive.


A memorial service for Mr. Jewell will be conducted at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor James Richardson officiating. Gathering with the family and friends will be one hour prior (3:30pm-4: 30pm) to the service at the funeral home.
