Wanda "Janie" Maddox, 71, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Leesburg, Florida on November 15, 1950 to the late William Marcus Arnold and Audrey Vestel Fowler Arnold. She has made Lake City her home since 1970, moving here from the Ocala area. She was a homemaker, and baby sat many children during her life. She also worked at Goody's in Lake City for a short while. In her spare time, Mrs. Maddox loved to work with her flowers and plants. She was known to walk around and talk to each plant and whistle the same tune each day to them. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and the hummingbirds. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Maddox, Sr.; her son, Randall Gene Maddox; and her siblings, Gordon Arnold, William Arnold, Jasper Arnold, Dolores Farkus and Pat Sheppard.

She is survived by her daughter, Ottie Maddox; sons, Ronald "Ron" Maddox, Billy Maddox, Donald "Don" Maddox, Jr. and Austin Maddox all of Lake City. Her grandchildren, Corey Maddox, Joshua Maddox and R.J. Maddox all of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Levi & Cameron Maddox; her siblings, Bonnie Ward of Lake City & Emmet Arnold of Ocala; many nieces and nephews along with her two fur children, Sandy and Roscoe also survive.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
