William Charles "W.C." Register, 95, of Lake City, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was born on August 1, 1928, in Northern Columbia County to Willie and Mary Jane Durrance Register.

W.C. was predeceased by his parents, his first wife of fifty- three years, Phyllis Register, seven sisters, and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Margie Register; sons, Larry of Lake City; Ray (Ralinda) of Haines City, FL, and Troy (Gigi) of Lake City; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; brother, Leo Register of Lake City; sister-in-law, Evelyn Register of Lacrosse, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

W.C. served in the United States Air Force for three years; and he retired from FDOT after thirty-two plus years of service. W.C. developed and owned/operated the Lake City Mobile Home Park for over thirty years. He enjoyed growing a garden and raising cattle his entire life.

W.C. was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge # 27, the Lake City Elks Lodge #893 for over sixty-seven years; and was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church for over fifty years. W.C. also volunteered on Sundays for a number of years with the VA Hospital, helping patients and residents to the chapel for Sunday morning services.

A funeral service for Mr. W.C. will be conducted on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:30 A.M., in the Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Tatem officiating, assisted by Reverend Keith Norris. Interment will follow in the Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M., prior to the service at the church for a time of visitation.
