Virginia Lucille Wood, 81, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 14, 2021 after an extended illness. She was born in Porterville, California on December 25, 1939 to the late Earl Jefferson Holt and Helen Lucille Gregg Holt. Lake City was her home for forty plus years, moving here from Missouri. She was a member of the Lake City Church of Christ and had retired from the VA Medical Center.  She loved the Lord, her family and her brothers and sisters in Christ.  She enjoyed being active in her church, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband in 1986, Charles Roger Wood and her infant son, Charles Roger Wood, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Jill Valdez of Lake City and Amy Oberlies (Duane) of Ocala; brothers, Sammy Holt of Texas and Billie Holt (Sharon) of Missouri; sisters, Nicki Holt Love (Don) of Missouri and Martha Jane Holt Book (Keith) of Maine;  grandchildren, Leonard Smith, Shelley Smith and Jill Smith;  great-grandchildren, Kaia, Kali, Amy, Manny, Tyler and Adam.

A private family service for Virginia will be held. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the ARC of Lake City.
