Virginia Louise Douberly, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Solaris Healthcare of Lake City.  She was born in Whigham, Georgia and had made Lake City her home the majority of her life.  Mrs. Douberly was of the Baptist Faith and had previously attended both Hopeful and Gateway Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, working in her flower garden, arranging flowers and spending time with her family and friends.  Mrs. Douberly was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Ruth McKelvin; her husband of 50 years, Cecil C. Douberly; 5 siblings; and one grandson, Chris Douberly.

Survivors include her children, Cecil A Douberly (Janice), Dade City, Calvin C. Douberly, Lake City and Brenda Murphy (Tim), Lake City; four grandchildren, Travis Douberly, Portage, PA, Joshua Lynn Douberly, Laura Grinstead (Matt) and Jared Murphy (Kristina) all of Lake City; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lamanda, Laney, Bryson, Parker, Lauralie and Ariel; one great-great grandchild, Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Thompson officiating.  Interment will follow at Swift Creek Cemetery in Union County.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
