Mr. Vance Edward Cox, 54, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Shands UF Hospital in Gainesville FL. following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth L. Cox, Jr. Vance was a lifelong resident of Columbia County and a member of The First Methodist Church. He enjoyed grilling, fishing, going on cruises, spending time with his family, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Vance is survived by his two children Jacob Cox and Ashley Cox both of Lake City, his mother Lavon Burns Leszkiewicz (Jerry) Lake City, FL one brother Ken L. Cox, III, Lake City, FL; three aunts Willen Giles (Bill) Lake City, FL; Linda Gafford, Lake City, FL; and Nora Cox, Naples, FL; one Uncle John Burns, Lake City, FL. one step-brother Craig Leszkiewicz (Annette Shoemaker) California, two step sisters Dr. Valerie Skinner (Randy) Soth Carolina, and Brenda Seldin (Douglas) Maryland. and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A private service with the family will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia unit at Shands UF 1600 SW Archer Road Gainesville, FL 32610.
