Tonya Marie LaPlant, 41 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  She was born in Charleston, South Carolina and had made her home in Lake City since 1995.  Tonya was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 2002.  She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.  Tonya's favorite color was orange and her favorite flower was the Hawaiian Hibiscus.

Survivors include her children, Dezerae Beckner (Andrew) of Lake City, Savannah Rodriguez (Jose) of Cape Coral, Zoey LaPlant, Roy LaPlant and Felix LaPlant-Cruz all of Lake City; her parents, Phillip and Kitty LaPlant of Lake City; her significant other and partner, Raul Velman of Lake City; two sisters, Sylvia LaPlant of Lake City and Heidi LaPlant of Nashville, TN; and three grandchildren, Caspyan, Ezra and Jose.

Funeral services for Tonya will be conducted on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Walters officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
