Tommy is the son of Philip A. Browning, Sr. and Ethel Browning of Lake City. "P.A." and Ethel were both life-long educators with the Columbia County School System who also managed a local ranch and produce and timber farms. Tommy attended and graduated from Columbia High School with the class of 1961. While in school he earned the name "Good Time Tommy" and developed his intense, passionate persona as a wild-man with a loving heart. He also attended the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He worked as a Property Appraiser, an educator, and a rancher and farmer throughout his life. He excelled in his many organizational memberships as a Master Gardener with IFAS, a participant of the
Hog-Wild Pig-Crazy BBQ Festival. Tommy enjoyed working on his father's Ranch, running his Property Appraiser's office in downtown Lake City and glad-handing with local politicians discussing the pertinent local business of the day. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City where he sang in the choir. His hobbies were attending UF Football games, gardening, reading and barbequing. Tommy enjoyed the whole fruit of life, not content with a small taste, and took pride in enjoying all of what life had to offer, all the way to its core.
