Thomas Palma, 91, of Ft. White, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fairfield, New Jersey to the late Louis and Marie [Chamino] Palma and had lived here in Columbia County for the past 31 years. Thomas proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Marine Corp. in the Pacific, and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed woodworking, building construction & remodeling, and tinkering in his shop. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers & sisters, Harry, Nunzio, Tony, Joe, Nancy, and Hope, great grandson, Jayden Acosta and his first wife, Anna Ruth Palma (1983) and his wife, Lodell Palma (2013)
Survivors include daughter, Kay and Braulio Peruyero of Ft. White, FL; grandchildren, Caitlin Acosta of Lakeland, FL and Courtney Peruyero of St. Augustine, FL; brother, Jack Palma of New Jersey; great granddaughter, Alyssa Acosta.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
