Thomas Edward "Tom" Morrison, 92, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 15, 1931 to the late Francis Joseph Morrison and Agnes Lucille Kloutvor Morrison. He has made Lake City his home since the early 1970s and was retired from the Marine Corps after 22 years of honorable service. He also worked for short stints with the AREO Corporation and Summers Chevrolet here in Lake City. He also owned and operated a truck supply business and did hydroponics with tomatoes for a short while before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 ½ years, Sarah Jeanette Morrison; his son, Joseph F. Morrison; grandchild, Jodie F. Morrison; and his siblings, Robert Morrison and Mary Valliere.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas E. Morrison, Jr. (Lisa) of Fernandina Beach and John A. Morrison (Marina) of Gainesville; his daughters, Christine Morrison of Sun City Center and Donna Autry of Summerville, SC. One brother, Richard Morrison of Caryville, FL along with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Mr. Morrison will be conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Father Bob Hoffman of Epiphany Catholic Church officiating. A private family interment where he will be laid to rest next to his wife in Florida National Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
