Mr. Thomas Alan "Tom" Mier, 85, went home to be with Jesus on January 19th, 2023. Born in Vero Beach, Fl. to John Alford Mier and Lilias Radinsky Mier, he was predeceased by his parents and by one brother, Robert A. Mier. A graduate of University of Florida, Mr. Mier worked at Occidental Petroleum Co. in White Springs, Fl, retiring in 1996. He loved his career at Oxy and had fond memories of his coworkers, was a history buff, and enjoyed military history and Florida history in particular. Mr. Mier loved the outdoors, nature, and canoeing on the Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers and was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Deacon at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Martha; 2 sons, Brian Alan Mier of Hodgenville, KY and Kenneth Andrew Mier and wife Lourdes of Birmingham, AL; Five grandchildren, Brittany Mier Fain, Megan Mier, and Jesse Mier, all of Hodgenville, KY, and Katie Mier and Nathan Mier of Birmingham, AL. One great-grandchild Alyssa Cochran; brother, John Alford Mier II of Stuart FL also survives.
