Thomas "Tom" Marino passed away quietly in his sleep during the morning hours of August 7, 2025, at his home in Lake City, Florida.

Tom graduated from Miami Senior High School in June of 1958 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jones College at Jacksonville, Florida in June 1974, after having served in the US Air Force. He was the owner of several businesses during his lifetime and worked in Accounts and Grants for Richland County, SC prior to retiring.

Tom moved from Columbia, SC to Lake City, Florida in 2016 to be closer to family. He was a devoted husband, brother and father. Tom's pleasures were reading, gardening, British crime dramas and most of all his dogs. He was someone who seemed to have knowledge of any subject you threw at him and was willing to give advice on any problem you could put to him. He was rarely sitting still in the mornings, usually handling a project in his yard or home every day. He was grateful for his neighbors, his friends and especially his family whom he held closely.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents (Thomas and Filomena) and former wife, Jackie. Survivors include his beloved husband, Robert Chinnis; his sisters, Rose Baldwin (Lake City) and Louise Marino (Sorrento), his sons, Marc (Dawn) Marino (Pensacola) and Mike (Connie) Marino (Tracy City, TN), his grandchildren Kylie and Cade, and his sweet golden retriever Rupert.

Tom requested no funeral services prior to his passing and in lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to an animal rescue shelter in his name.
