Thomas (Tommy) Kato, of Lake City, Florida, died on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice). He has been a resident of Lake City for a number of years. Mr. Kato was a boilermaker by trade and was a member of the Boilermakers Local #199 out of Jacksonville, Florida. He had acquired many friends in his many years as a boilermaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, history, working in the garden and had collected coins for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Tommie Kato of Lempster, New Hampshire; son, Bobby Kato of Lake City, FL; step daughters, Lesley King, Susan Sweet, Kathleen Morretto and Vicky Moode; step son, Samuel Reed; and 4 grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3596 South U.S. Hwy 441, Lake City, FL 32025.
