Ms. Thelma Faye Holmes, 71, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Lake City, FL, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with health complications. She is the daughter of Luther and Annie Faye Lockridge McGee. Ms. Thelma is preceded in death by three brothers Roy, James, and Mitchel McGee, and two sisters Olivia Grayson and Doris McGee. She had made her home in Lake City for the past thirty-six years after moving here from Racine, Wisconsin. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her family, she also enjoyed singing, dancing, and sewing and crafts and she was very artistic.

Ms. Thelma is survived by her two sons Rurmell McGee (Ericka) Lake City, FL; Goshen Holmes (Pam) Gainesville, FL; two daughters Azie Handy (Roy) Lake City, FL; Jenile Cavitalo (James) Clermont, FL; two brothers Larry McGee, Racine, Wisconsin, Rodney McGee, New Albany, Mississippi, three sisters Diane Griffin, Racine, Wisconsin, Donna Holiefield, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rosalinde McGee, Appleton, Wisconsin, one Aunt Corrine McQuarter, one niece she raised like one of her own children, Cheryl Billips. And twelve grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Ms. Thelma Faye Holmes will be conducted on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. A private Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
