February 20, 1959 – October 5, 2023
Terri Mikell Carmichael, 64, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 5, 2023 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was born and raised in Lake City and worked for the FDOT, working in the Utility Department as the District Utility Coordinator, and retired during the 2011-2012 year. In her spare time, she enjoyed family vacations to the beach, spending time with her family and friends, gardening, crafting and cheering on the FSU Seminoles. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Keith Morgan Carmichael; father, Melvin Randolph Mikell; and her father-in-law, Doyle M. Carmichael.
She is survived by her loving children, Mikell Carmichael (Holly) of Wellborn and Kristina Murphy (Jared) of Lake City; her mother, Shirley Mikell of Lake City; mother-in-law, Anne Carmichael of Lake City; grandchildren, Caley Massey (Bryce), Brooke Carmichael and Parker Murphy; one great-grandchild, Keith Jason Massey; and her brother, Randy Mikell of Wellborn also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. Carmichael will be conducted on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 3:30 P.M., in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Lawhon. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 P.M., prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, the family will gather at the Westside Community Center in Lake City for a time of fellowship.
