Sybil Jean Cox, 93 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was born in Louisville, Georgia to the late, Thomas and Sophronia [Rabun] Adams and had lived here in Columbia County since 1935. Sybil was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who dearly loved her family and cherished her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 5 sisters, 3 brothers,  and her beloved husband of 33 years, Johnnie Cox (1974).

Survivors include her sons, Randy (Cheryl) Cox & Gordon (Rita) Cox both of Lake City, FL; daughters, Ruth Cox Williams of Lake City, FL and Linda Kay (Glenn) Moore of Wilmington, NC; sister, Emmie Wagner of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren,  Karen Williams, Trey (Rebecca) Moore, Alison Moore, Amy (Jason) Harry, Casey (Joshua) Owens, Lindsey (Greg) Welder, and Lesley (Patrick) Banis; great grandchildren, Bre-Anne Gardner, Cale Shaw, Zoe, Helen, & Lilly Moore, Tyler Harry, Emily Owens, Ty Welder, and Mariah Banis.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Richard Rodriguez officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) 6037 West US Hwy 90, Lake City, Florida 32055.
