It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Bell Roberts (79), who passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at Haven Hospice, Lake City, FL, after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her parents, two sons, Jesse Roberts, Jr. (Leesa) and Dwayne (Worm) Bullard (Shannon), and a brother, BJ Taylor (Beverly).

She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Jesse Lindsey (Red) Roberts, Sr., and sons Carl Bullard, Jr. (Jolene) and Michael Roberts, Sr. (Penny). Her siblings, Nancy McDowell, Lorraine Odom (David), Robyn Arrington (Denise), Faith Ann Hoffer (Jim), Tim Griffith, and Jamie Cray (Donnie).

She was fondly known as "Mimi" to her 13 grandchildren; Anelise Bullard, Michael (Lauren) Boyle, Dylan Bullard, Hunter (Deanna) Bullard, Brayden Parrish, Becklyn Parrish, Jesse (Trae) Roberts, III (Leslie), Michael Roberts, Jr. (Maclay), Dana Roberts (Kirsten), Jessica Roberts, Addison Roberts, Bella Roberts, Kauner Roberts; and 9 great-grandchildren, Landyn Boyle, Rylee Boyle, Aubree Boyle, Braxdyn Boyle, Rusty Bullard, Myles Bullard, Berkleigh Bullard, Jennings Roberts and Boyd Roberts with one on the way.  Each one brought joy to her life. She also leaves behind a large extended family and many lifelong friends who will miss her.

Susie was born in Hagerstown, MD on March 1, 1946, to Naomi Ruth Berklite Johnson and Robert Otto Taylor. She moved to Lake City at a young age and lived in the Columbia County area for the remainder of her life. She would recount stories of her younger years and "Mum" Taylor who lived with them. She was the eldest of 7 children and her younger siblings all looked up to her. She became a mother on February 27, 1967, to her first son "Little Carl". Her second son, Dwayne (Worm) Bullard, joined the family on December 10, 1971. Her boys kept her on her toes and she loved them deeply. She loved all things that sparkled and had a creative nature that she pursued in many ways. Decorating for the holidays was one of her favorites as well as painting concrete yard ornaments. Susie enjoyed being around people, and many people remember her from her years of employment at Bullard's Western Wear. Susie worked in sales and became the primary buyer for the clothing department. Susie married Red in 1988 and they enjoyed 37 years of life together. She worked alongside Red at DredgCo Mine Services Inc. until they both retired in 2005. Susie enjoyed a good road trip and they traveled together to many places over the years. They also enjoyed traveling with their brother and sister in law, Don and Linda Roberts. In later years, they traveled via a tour bus company which allowed them to enjoy the trip and visit with friends along the way. Susie always enjoyed a gathering and she loved having her family around her. She especially enjoyed each holiday and the annual Roberts Family Reunion. Susie and Red had property in Suwannee, FL, where they spent a lot of time, and one of Red's fondest memories is of her fishing while spending time there.  Susie was Baptized and was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed a full life and her sparkle will be greatly missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Susie's life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with interment following. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL.
