Susan Marie Stanfield, age 74, passed comfortably and peacefully at the VA Hospital in Lake City, Florida on June 9, 2022 after her long battle with cancer.  After graduating high school, Susan enlisted in the US Navy earning her Bachelors Degree.  Then after achieving her many goals, she retired after 22 years as an LDO Lieutenant.  Susan was preceded in death by her two daughters, Kelly and Erin; her parents, James and Mary Newth; her brother, James, sister Georgia and niece Melissa.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack as well as her sister Mary, her brother Terry and his wife Kristi;  Susan was also a loving step mother to Jack's sons John and Shawn, and Grandma to Hailey and Jake, and aunt to several nieces and nephews.

On June 14, 2022, a small family service was held at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Lake City, Florida.  A graveside inurnment service will be held on October 8, 2022 at St. Mary of Sorrow's in Fairfax, VA where she will join her girls Kelly and Erin.
