Mr. Stephen Paul Gartner, 65 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  He was born in Delhi, New York to the late George and Margaret Bauer Gartner and had lived in Miami for many years before moving to Lake City in 1994.  Mr. Gartner enjoyed going out and dining with his family and being a father to his children.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ft. White.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Holly Elaine Gartner in 2003.

Survivors include his son, Stephen Paul Gartner, Jr., Branford; three daughters, Shelley Greenwald (Eric), Lake City, Tracy Wise (Chris), Lake Wales and Heather Arrington (Mark), Tallahassee; one brother, George Gardner, Hazel Green, AL; one sister, Barbara Hendricks, Ft. Pierce, FL; six grandchildren, Sarah and Sophia Gartner, Branford, Eric, Logan, Dale and Kyle Greenwald all of Lake City and Bruno and Colonel; two great grandchildren, Aiden Wagner, Virginia Beach, VA and Adalynn Grace Greenwald, Lake City; his Caregiver, Margaret Mary "Mamie" Stewart, Lake City.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 22297 SW SR 47, Ft White, FL 32038, with Pastor Marc Pargo officiating.  A reception with the family will immediately follow at the church.  The family ask for any floral arrangements be delivered to the church on Saturday.
