Sonja Beck Gardner, 85 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.  She was born in Thomasville, North Carolina, the oldest of 3 children to the late Jesse Beck and Muriel Westmoreland Beck.  Mrs. Gardner was raised in Thomasville, North Carolina and had made her home in Lake City since 1954.  She was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed cooking and watching her TV and game shows.  Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Palma Lou Akins; and her brother, Frank Beck.

Survivors include her two sons, Bobby Ray Cheshire (Alice) and Jeffrey Cheshire both of Lake City; three grandchildren, Tiffany Cheshire, Kevin Cheshire (Kristy) and Travis Cheshire all of Lake City; and four great-grandchildren, Dalton Simpson, Kayden Cheshire, Carson Bedenbaugh and Kaisley Cheshire also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gardner will be conducted on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Cagney Tanner of Abundant Life Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
