Shirley Marie Register, 73, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in St. Augustine, FL on October 18, 1944 to the late Nathan Roy Nix and Arabelle Hull Nix. She grew up in St. Augustine and lived most of her adult life in the Lake City area. She was a homemaker; and loved reading, watching old TV shows and anything Elvis. She was a member of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years; Roger Dale Register, Sr.; and her siblings; Elmo Nix, Charles Nix, Howard Nix and Lillian Hardee.

She is survived by her children; Roger Dale Register, Jr. (Brenda) of Lake City, Amanda Register of Lake City and Sandy Beeche (Dale) of Live Oak; brothers; Ricky Nix (Kay) of Hastings, Gary Nix (Linda) of St. Augustine and Roy Nicks of St. Augustine; sister; Bessie Johnson (Gene) of St. Augustine. Six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Register will conducted on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home.
