Shirley Mullens, 82, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 18, 2025 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after an extended illness. She was born in Minford, Ohio on January 15, 1943 to the late Charles McCain and Cynthia Travis McCain. She has made Lake City her home since the early 1990's and was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. Upon graduating High School, she worked for the FBI before becoming a full time mom and homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, working crossword puzzles, reading the Bible and going to church. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 45 years, Allen Mullens; and her son-in-law, Craig Bauman.
Mrs. Mullens is survived by her two loving children, Robert Mullens and Kim Bauman both of Lake City along with her several friends and her church family.
A memorial service for Mrs. Mullens will be conducted on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Tatem officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Baya Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center in Lake City for their thoughtfulness and compassion over the last year and a half towards Mrs. Mullens.
