Shirley Elizabeth Bozzuto, 86, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022 at the Shands at UF Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Mooers Forks, NY on March 19, 1936 to the late Amedios and Lena Barnaby Bertrand. She has made Lake City her home since November of 1964 and was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church. She drove a School Bus with the Columbia County School District for several years as well as with Suwannee Valley Transit for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed farming with her family, crafts, cross stitching and gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Calvin Bozzuto; sons, Dennis Bozzuto & Mark Bozzuto; brothers, Ernest, Richard & Edward Bertrand and her sister, Bertha Fournier.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Whipple (Tom) of DeLand, FL, Laurie Polhill (Alton, III) and Lisa Waites (Marty) both of Lake City. Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Bozzuto will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Father Bob Hoffman, of Epiphany Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
