Shermon Victor Rose Sr., 92 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Mr. Rose was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina and had made Lake City his home since 1963. He served our country in the United States Air Force and worked in the trucking industry for many years. Mr. Rose was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, camping in the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Patricia "Pat" Bonds Rose; his mother, Eula Mae Bennett; and one brother, Lewis Jackson.
Survivors include his son, Victor Rose, II of Lake City; two daughters, Brenda Thomas (David) and Cathy Bulthuis (Howard "Scooter", Jr.) all of Lake City; his siblings, Marie Watson (Bobby) of Haines City, Marlene Darby (David) of Dunnellon and Michael Jackson (Corina) of Fernandina Beach; his sister in law, Betty Jackson of Apopka; grandchildren, Amber Howard (Joseph), Craig Thomas, Derek Espenship (Allison) and Dawson Bulthuis; and great-grandchildren, Marshall Howard, Wyatt Howard, Nolan Howard, Lance Croft, Maddison Espenship and Brayden Espenship.
In honoring Mr. Rose's wishes, a graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church for immediate family.
