Sheriden Griffis Miles, of Lake City, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2023.    She was born on July 3, 1953 in Gainesville, Florida to Millard Griffis and Dolores Griffis.  She grew up with her family in Starke, Florida. During her adult life, she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Sheriden loved working with the youth of her congregation and teaching her Sunday School class every week. She worked in finance for the majority of her career at the School Board office for Columbia County Schools for 30 years. She loved gardening, camping, and traveling.

Sheriden is survived by her mother Dolores Morgan of Keystone Heights, husband Neil Miles of Lake City, three children, Olivia Waters (Joc), Richard Miles (Priscilla), and Wendy Miles.  She is also survived by her siblings, Diane Strauss (Robert) and Millard Griffis (Brenda) and grandchildren, Brent Knott, River Waters, Chelsey Ewles, Dakota Waters, Marley Nydam, Dalton Waters, Andrew Nydam, Audrey Nydam, Ariana Miles, and Kalon Waters.  She also has eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Millard Griffis, step-father Claude Morgan, and sister Julie Walmsley.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 909 SE Country Club Road, Lake City, FL 32025. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Union County.  There will be a visitation prior to the services on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City.
