Obituary

Sarah "Frances" Dix Wynn, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City with family and friends by her side. She was born in Irwin County, GA to the late Wallace Pate Dix and Lucille Tyson Dix on July 12, 1940. She attended schools in Columbia County; and attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lake City for many years, and currently was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and her church family. She was the manager of the Diana Shop for many years; and also worked from and retired from the State Exchange/Barnett Bank in Lake City.

In her spare time, she would enjoy her puzzles, fishing, gardening and lately being with her friends at The Canopy. She also loved her grandchildren dearly and loved when they would come to visit. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Chief Willie Vance Wynn; brother, Willis Dix and her son-in-law, Harry Paul Lee, Sr..

She is survived by her son, W.V. "Billie" Wynn, Jr. (Mary) and her daughter, Linda Lee both of Lake City; grandchildren, Harry Paul Lee, Jr. (Danielle) and Joshua Lee (Samantha) all of Lake City. Six great-grandchildren, Kolbee, Kamryn, Mason, Clara, Amelia and Tripp Lee all of Lake City and her sister, Carolyn Dortch of Lake City also survive.

A family gathering to honor Mrs. Frances will be held at a later time in the fall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center, 6037 W. US HWY 90, Lake City, FL, 32055. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
