Sandra Tyre Hansford, 75 of Astor, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at her home.  She was born in Lake City, Florida, the youngest of seven children, to the late Leo Tyre, Sr and Beulah Bishop Tyre.  Mrs. Hansford was raised on the family farm in the Lulu community and attended Columbia High School.  She had made Astor her home for the past 20 years having lived in numerous places throughout her husband's career with the railroad.  Mrs. Hansford was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed fishing, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tscharna Hampton; and four siblings, Leo Tyre, Jr., Tal Tyre, Bonnie Tomlinson and Maurcine Robinson.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Robert L. Hansford, Jr., Astor; two daughters, Tina McCann, Orange Park and Bobbie Jo Butler, Keystone Heights; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hansford will be conducted on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.  A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
