SALLY JANE WELCH
Sally Jane (Myers) Welch, 80, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died Monday, January 13, 2014 following an extended illness at Hospice of Citrus County of Nature Coast in Inverness, Florida surrounded by her family.
Sally was born on April 12, 1933 in Ogdensburg, New York to Viola Grace and Herbert Silas Myers. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and attended St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing. Sally married Chauncey A. Welch in June of 1953. They resided the first 18 years of their 60 years of marriage in New York. They moved their family to Lake City, Florida in 1972 and finally moved to Inverness, Florida where they have resided the past 26 years.
Sally loved decorating, working in the yard, reading, and caring for her family and her dogs. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and adored the time spent at the beach during vacations with her family.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Herbert Myers, and one sister, Nancy Terry.
Survivors include her husband, Chauncey A. Welch (Inverness, FL); one son, Michael H. Welch (Lake City, FL); two daughters, Wendy and Don Stevens (Lake City, FL) and Candace "Candy" and Dean Pauley (Inverness, FL); six grandchildren, Brandy Hunt (Lake City, FL), Chip Stevens (Jupiter, FL), Kyle Stevens (Ft. Myers, FL),Chauncey Pauley (Greensboro, NC), Casey Stevens (Tampa, FL), and Samantha Pauley (Inverness, FL); and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Jordan Hunt (Lake City, FL); and many adored friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Chapel with Reverend Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
