Russell Clayton "Russ" Busscher, 64 of Lake City, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at his home with his family under the care of Community Hospice.  Russ was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1978.  He was the former owner and operator of Russ' Used Car Store in Lake City following a career in sales.  Mr. Busscher also worked for the Columbia County School Board as a bus driver.  Most recently, he drove a bus for Epiphany Catholic School until he retired due to declining health.  Russ was known for his quick wit, humor and unconditional love.  When able he enjoyed going on cruises, fishing and following Florida State Football.  He loved to spend time with his family and his dog "Roly".  Mr. Busscher was preceded in death by his mother, Doleita "Dee" Sweat Busscher.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Vickie St. John Busscher, Lake City; his father, Gordon J. Busscher, Lake City; two daughters, Deidra Busscher (Sean Bosley) and Janeen Coleman, all of Lake City; three brothers, Roger Busscher (Cindy), Ronny Busscher (Rhonda) and Joey Busscher (Lisa) all of Lake City; five grandchildren, Luke Bosley, Carlin Coleman, Kelsyn Winstead, Kinsley Coleman and Charleigh Coleman all of Lake City and Gainesville; many nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Danny Franks and Larry Snowden both of Lake City.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lake City Church of God with Rev. Dustin Busscher, officiating.  A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
