Ruby C. Adkins, 77, died on Friday, May 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Colquitt, Georgia to the late Buford and Mary (Daniels) Cross. She has lived here in Lake City for the past 28 years having moved here from West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grand mother who enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing, putting puzzles together and loved watching her soap operas. She is preceded in death by her sister, Irene, her brother, Joe, as well as her husband of 23 years, Coy L. Adkins.
Survivors include her son, Billy White (Vicki) of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Carol Woodward (Daniel) of Lake City, FL; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating.
