Ms. Rose Bassett Parnell, 82, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2025, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late Lester Merle and Violet Blizzard Bassett, and she is preceded in death by her two sons, whom she loved very much, Jeff and Steve Kelch, and two sisters, Bertha Bassett and Voncile Pursifull. Rose had made Lake City her home for the past sixty years and was a member of the Lutheran Church, enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and her cat, "Mac."

She is survived by her brothers Lester P. "Sonny" Bassett, Lake City, FL; Samuel "Sam" E. Bassett (Shelia) Hampton, FL; Kenneth M. Bassett (Darlena) McAlpin, FL; David E. Bassett (Denise) Lake City, FL; Roger C. Bassett, Middleburg, FL; and John "Mike" Bassett (Tina) Middleburg. One sister, Violet Sutton (Robert), Pensacola, FL.

Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with her Brother Kenneth Bassett officiating at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City, FL.
