Rose Marie "Pringle" Clayton
Rose Marie "Pringle" Clayton went to be with the Lord, Monday, 2:00 p.m. January 6, 2014 at her home. She was 80 years young and lived in Lake City, Fla. all of her married life. She was born to Isabelle "Box" Kennidy and James Samuel Pringle on January 15, 1933. They were from Olustee, Fla. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Isabelle "Box" Kennidy and James Samuel Pringle; three brothers, Samie Pringle, Eugene Madison Johnson, and James W. Johnson; one grand daughter, Bonnie Sue Brett; and two grandsons, John David Spivey and Dylan Cody Rowe.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James Grady Clayton of Lake City, Fla. and five children; one son, Buddy (Cindy) Clayton of Lake City, Fla., four daughters, Dorothy (Wilbur) Regar of Lake Butler, Fla., Kathryn (Jessie) Truluck of Lake City, Fla., Irene (Steve) Alford of Lake City, Fla., and Barbara Putnel of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Lois (Henry) Horton from Lake City, Fla., and one sister in law, Inez (Spencer) Wallace of Lake City, Fla., Rose Marie had Twenty-One grandchildren, Forty-Four great grandchildren, and Two great great grandchildren.
She attended New Beginning Church and Heaven Central of Lake City, Fla. Rose Marie loved her kitchen; it was her favorite place to be. Her biscuits were heaven sent and loved by all. She loved helping all the people in the church, cooking soup, and taking it to the one's that were sick and needed help. She was awarded Mother of the Year by the church and loved singing in the church's choir. She was also called the Mullet Queen of the Riverhouse at Old Town and loved to crochet blankets and give them to people to enjoy. She was well loved by all; We will miss our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be at the table with Jesus and singing around the throne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor James Aultman and Bro. Mike Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Fla., Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home (1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.) GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 South U.S. Hwy 441, Lake City, Fla. 32025, (386) 752-1954.
