Ronald Joe Rhoden, 74 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the HCA Florida Lake City Hospital in Lake City. He was born in Lake City, Florida, the oldest of three children to the late Joel "Joe" Rhoden and Vera Mae Nelson Rhoden. Mr. Rhoden was a lifelong resident of the Lake City area and a graduate of Branford High School class of 1968. Following high school he enlisted and served our country in the United States Air Force. He then worked for over 25 years with the Lake City Community College, now Florida Gateway College, in Lake City. Mr. Rhoden was of the Baptist faith and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed growing his garden every year, hunting when he was able, spending time with his family and making sure everyone who visited him "ate something from the refrigerator". Mr. Rhoden was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike Rhoden; and one grandson, Hunter Glover.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Katrina Edenfield Rhoden, Lake City; his two children, Jason T. Rhoden (Kendall), Lake City and April Michele Glover, Melbourne; his sister, Donna Rhoden, Lake City; his sister-in-law, Terry Rhoden, Lake City; three grandchildren, Kelsey Wiggins (Carter), Dylan T. Rhoden and Landan L. Glover; and four great-grandchildren, Alina, Ash, Mason and Aspyn.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Mr. Rhoden will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Norman of Tabernacle Baptist Church officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
