Major Ronald E. Hisler, Ret., Florida Highway Patrol, 87 of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the Lake City Medical Center. He was born and raised in LaBelle, Florida to the late Herbert and Malissie Lee Hisler. Mr. Hisler graduated from LaBelle High School class of 1953 and served our country in the United States Airforce. He then furthered his education later in life and earned his Bachelor's degree from Barry University in Miami. Mr. Hisler retired from the Florida Highway Patrol in 1993 with 35 years of service retiring as a Major. During his career with the Florida Highway Patrol, Mr. Hisler served in many Troops including Troop E, Miami and Troop L, Ft. Lauderdale. Mr. Hisler was residing in Lake City for the past 5 years with his daughter and son-in-law. He loved fishing, golfing and playing cards. Mr. Hisler enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his two grandsons grow into amazing young men. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Dorothy R. Hisler; one sister and brother-in-law, Dahlia and Bo Pearce.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Denis Raczkowski, Lake Placid and Tracy and Kevin Pace, Lake City; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Charles Matthews, Green Valley, AZ; and two grandsons, Joshua Martinez, Lake Placid and Dylan Pace, Lake City.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chris Jones officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be two hours prior to the service on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM.
