Roger Dale Register Sr., 66, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville after an extended illness. He was born in Loris South Carolina to the late Curtis E. & Beulah Cox Register. He has lived in Columbia County for the past 46 years having moved here from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved watching Westerns and War movies, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 45 years, Shirley Nix Register of Lake City, FL; son, Roger D. Register Jr. of Live Oak, FL; daughters, Sandra Beeche of Live Oak, FL & Amanda Register of Lake City, FL; brothers, Ronald Register of Lake City, FL, Curtis Wayne Register of St. Augustine, FL, Larry Register of Lake City, FL, and
Joseph Register of Waynesboro, VA; sisters, Pam Suggs of St. George, GA and
Wonda Hodson of Bartow, FL; 2 grandsons, 4 grand daughters and 1 great grandson also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012, at
New Beginnings Church, (SW C.R. 242, Lake City, FL 32024) with Pastor Ulis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
